Change Your Environment, Change Your Thoughts

Have you ever told yourself you want to move on, but you can’t because everything just reminds you of your ex?

Everything reminds you of your ex…

Many times, after a breakup we want to move on, we try our best not to think about our ex but no matters what we do, everything makes us think about them. The images, the songs, the restaurants you used to go together, the perfume, and much more.

I remember myself during this stage of the breakup and I thought I would never be able to forget her. I couldn’t eat the chocolate she loved, I couldn’t hear the songs we used to sing together. The letters she wrote to me, the clothes and gifts she brought me, everything just was there and blocked me from moving on.

Change your environment

The best thing I did and this is the best thing I can tell to do is to change your environment, changing your thoughts can be a difficult thing to do. But thoughts don’t come from anywhere they come because we see, hear, smell, taste, or touch something and that thing makes us think. By changing your environment, you can reduce the thoughts about your ex and this way improve your healing process.

But what does changing the environment mean? Everything that can make you think about your ex. Hide images and staff that reminds you of your ex. Move things and redesign it, paint the walls if you want. Do everything that will let you feel new, fresh, different from the past. Of course, don’t be dramatic and don’t throw things you will regret in the future. Even tiny changes can make a huge impact.
