After a breakup, a very asked question is — what do I do now? After being in a relationship, it’s very strange to be alone. Suddenly a huge part of your life isn’t there and it’s something new.

You used to share your day with someone but no more. You used to have someone you know were yours but no more. The life you used to know doesn’t exist anymore. Your ex isn’t a part of your life. Now the word “we” doesn’t exist and it’s only the word “I” that’s important. You start a new journey and new life.

But does new always mean bad? Changes can be good and bad, also the breakup has positive and negative sides, but I want you to look at the good sides because it will take you to a good place. When there’s something new in life, people tend to be afraid. Don’t be afraid, a broken heart is natural, and it happens to people all over the world at any age. People can overcome it and be happy again, they can grow and become a better person and so you will. Don’t be dramatic because it won’t help you. Take the time to accept reality.

From changes and from pain you grow, you learn, you improve. You have to understand that the reality is the reality. Your ex isn’t in your life and you are hurt. You didn’t choose it, that’s right, but that’s what you have. The best thing you can do is to ask yourself how you can make it better from now. You can decide to focus on the bad things, but it will only bring anxiety and pain to your life, it will affect your mental health.

The best you can do is to focus on the positive things. For example, you can write down all the things you can now do as a single person. Of course, you have now more time for yourself and it can be an amazing opportunity to put yourself in the things place. Are there some things you always wanted to do and because of your relationship you didn’t do? So now it’s time to do them, now it’s time to make your dreams come true, achieve your goals, and make yourself happy.

Don’t forget it’s a process, a marathon, not a sprint. Maybe your head already understands it and your heart not yet so take your time. Don’t give up on yourself, you deserve more, fight for your happiness because you have to.
