Gratitude is the key to happiness. Gratitude is the key to loving yourself and gratitude is the key to healing after a breakup. Now, I know that you are hurt, and you think things are really bad right now. But exactly at this moment, the best thing you can do is being grateful.

Let me explain the reason why gratitude will take you where you want to be.

First of all, gratitude makes you feel amazing. When you are truly grateful you just can’t feel anything else. You can’t be angry, you can’t feel sad, you can’t feel hate. After a breakup, it’s normal to feel bad feelings and feeling like it’s the end of the world. People want to get rid of this feeling, but you can’t do it by fighting against it. If you want to let go of bad feelings, you have to let good feelings in. When you are full of good, bad doesn’t have a place in your life.

You might be thinking that your situation just sucks and there’s nothing you can be grateful for. But this is wrong because there are so many things you should appreciate. You can take it as an exercise and write down all the things you are grateful for. To make it easy divide it into sections. Write things about your family and friends, about the things you love in life, about the fact you’re alive and being able to feel. You had the chance to feel love, a true love. Maybe it ended but it was an amazing experience not everyone can have. You can be grateful for small things and big things. You can be grateful for the future, for all the things you want to have.

Remember that when you are grateful, life will reward you, life will start to improve, and you will see positively. It’s hard to move on when all you see is black and all you do is crying. It’s hard to move on when you don’t have hope. Gratitude is a great way to feel better.

One more thing you have to do is to thank your ex. Of course, just write it down as an exercise, don’t same them anything. You don’t have to thank them for being good people if you don’t believe they are. You can say thank them for teaching what love is not, what you aren’t looking for. Because every breakup even if it’s painful, teaches you, makes you stronger, and improves you.

Train your mind to see only positive things. Train yourself to be grateful. I’m not saying you have to be blind and not to see bad things. What I ask you to do is to focus more on the good than on the bad. That’s will be the turning point of your healing process. The more you feel relaxed and hopeful, the faster you will be able to move on.

Life is amazing, a breakup is part of life and it’s a great lesson. Take that lesson, grow from it. Don’t let bad days destroy the process you are making. You will happy I can promise you, you deserve it.
